Fence Installation in Westchester
Some fence companies say they "serve" Westchester. We can practically see it from our front door. First Fence Company is headquartered at 4900 Harrison St. in Hillside, directly across the border from Westchester, IL, which means when you call us for fence installation, fence repair, or a free fence estimate in Westchester, IL, you're calling the fence contractor closest to home.

From the brick Georgians and Cape Cods along the village's English-named streets to the offices and businesses along Cermak Road and Wolf Road, we know these lots, these soil conditions, and these village codes better than anyone driving in from across the county. With more than 100 fence styles and a reputation built on word-of-mouth referrals, we're ready to be your first choice for a fence building company in Westchester, IL.

Fence Installation in Westchester, IL — Built for These Lots
Westchester was planned in the 1920s and largely built out after World War II, which gives the village something you don't find everywhere: mature trees, established landscaping, and homes that have already had two or three fences over their lifetime. That changes how a fence should be installed. Old post footings need to be removed correctly. Tree roots need to be worked around, not through. And a replacement fence should sit exactly where it belongs on the lot line, not where the previous fence happened to end up.
As a residential fence contractor and commercial fence company working in Westchester every week, we can handle all of it: the plat of survey review, help with the Village of Westchester permit paperwork, the old fence tear-out and haul-away, and an installation with post holes set deep enough to shrug off Chicagoland's freeze-thaw cycles and wind storms.

Residential Fences for Westchester Homes
Whether you're closing off the yard for a new puppy, adding privacy behind a patio, or replacing a fence a storm knocked sideways, our fence installers in Westchester, IL will help you find the right style for your home and budget.
Wood Fences
We install Western Red Cedar for wood fences because it's naturally resistant to rot and insects and ages beautifully in our climate. Some homeowners ask about pressure-treated pine because it looks cheaper on paper; once we walk through how the two materials hold up over time, cedar wins on value almost every time. From solid privacy styles to charming picket designs, our wood fence installers in Westchester, IL build fences that complement the village's classic brick architecture.
Vinyl (PVC) Fences
Vinyl fencing is the perfect option if you want a fence that requires little maintenance. No painting, no staining, and no sanding, just a clean, durable barrier that keeps its looks year after year. As a leading vinyl fence company in Westchester, IL, we carry Catalyst and other premium lines in a wide range of styles, including wood-grain textures that mimic the real thing. Vinyl privacy fencing is also a favorite of pool owners who want to enjoy the backyard without an audience.
Chain Link Fences
Practical, economical, and stronger than people give it credit for. Chain link is a smart choice for enclosing a yard for kids and dogs, securing a side yard, or fencing a larger lot without a large budget. Our chain link fence contractors in Westchester, IL also install vinyl-coated chain link, which disappears nicely against landscaping.
Aluminum Fences
Aluminum fencing gives you the elegant, open look of wrought iron at a fraction of the cost, with powder-coated finishes that never rust and require virtually no maintenance. It's an excellent choice for pool enclosures, front-facing side yards and dog owners who add puppy pickets to keep smaller pets from slipping through. Ask about our full range of aluminum fence installation options in Westchester, IL, from flat top to spear top styles.
Ornamental Steel Fences
When you want real presence from your fence, including strength, security, and a refined look, ornamental steel delivers. We install Ameristar and other trusted architectural steel lines for homeowners who want curb appeal and a serious barrier in one structure.
Iron Fences
For a truly classic look, custom ornamental iron remains the gold standard. Built to last a lifetime, an iron fence or wrought iron gate adds character that suits Westchester's traditional brick homes especially well.
Composite Fences
Our modern, European-style composite fencing pairs wood-plastic composite boards with sleek aluminum posts for a contemporary look with almost no upkeep. It resists fading, staining, mold, and mildew, a favorite for homeowners replacing a tired wood fence who want something different from the neighbors.
Custom-Designed Fences
Corner lot? Sloped yard? A design in your head that you haven't seen anywhere else? Our custom fence designers build one-of-a-kind fences in wood, vinyl, aluminum, steel, and iron, including solutions that work within corner-lot sightline restrictions.
Aluminum Railings
We also install quality aluminum railings for porches, stoops, and steps, a finishing touch that pairs perfectly with a new fence.
Gate Installation
Every fence is only as good as its gate. Our gate installation in Westchester, IL uses premium D&D Technologies hardware, with self-closing and self-latching options for pool areas and child-safe backyards, and we also install walk gates, double drive gates, and custom entry gates.
Commercial Fence Installation in Westchester, IL

When trespassing, theft, or liability is the concern, we design security fencing that creates a real barrier without making your property look like a fortress, including anti-climb designs and taller commercial heights where code allows.
Access Control
Automated gates, keypads, card readers, and controlled entry points that manage who comes and goes, ideal for parking lots, loading areas, and multi-tenant properties.
Dumpster Enclosures
Keep waste areas screened, secure, and code-compliant with durable enclosures and heavy-use gates built to survive daily service by waste haulers.

Westchester Fence Rules Worth Knowing
The Village of Westchester has a few fence regulations that surprise homeowners. Our professionals can handle the details for you:
- A building permit is required for all residential fence projects. The village reviews your plan before installation, and we help you prepare to submit the permit paperwork.
- Front yard fences are not permitted on residential lots. Fencing generally can't extend past the front setback of the house, a rule that catches many new homeowners off guard. We'll design your layout so it's approved the first time.
- Maximum fence height is 6 feet.
- The finished side faces out. The construction side that includes the posts and rails must face into your own lot, so your neighbors and the street see the good side.
- Corner lots have sightline restrictions near intersections and sidewalks, but there are compliant solutions. We design around these restrictions regularly.
Have questions about your specific lot or zoning? Ask during your free estimate or contact the Village of Westchester's building department. It's also a neighborly move to give the folks next door a heads-up before installation day, especially on a shared lot line.
