Custom Cedar Privacy Fence in Skokie, IL

Privacy for a Front Yard Sitting Area

For this Skokie, IL home, the homeowners wanted to add privacy to their front yard sitting area without losing the view of their garden and neighborhood. First Fence created a custom cedar fence that provides screening at seated height while keeping the space open above.

Custom Cedar Fence with Lattice Top

The fence features a 3-foot solid base topped with 1.5 feet of lattice. This combination provides privacy around the sitting area while allowing the homeowners to see through the upper section toward the garden and surrounding neighborhood.

The homeowners chose a black stain to complement the home’s exterior trim and shutters. The dark finish gives the cedar fence a consistent look with the existing details of the house.

Cedar Fence Design in Skokie

This project shows how fence height, lattice design, and stain color can work together to meet a homeowner’s specific needs. The solid lower section provides screening for the sitting area, while the lattice top maintains visibility and gives the fence its distinctive appearance.
